Building Inspection – Step 1 or Step 2 When Buying a Home? February 23rd, 2008
Getting a Building Inspection is certainly one of the first steps you should take when purchasing a propertyin NZ… in fact, some real estate agencies won’t sell a home to you unless you get one!
So what’s the first step to take once you have decided to go the next step with a property purchase? Some people would argue a building inspection is first, whilst others would argue that a moisture inspection should be first.
The advantage of having moisture inspection is that you can provide the building inspector with the area of the home where damp has been detected to see if there is any structural issues. An invasive inspection may be needed in the area.
Getting an infrared inspection is certainly an option to look at as part of your due diligence, as it can detect potential issues that the human eye can not see. Detailed information here… www.findaleak.co.nz
